South Dakota Changes Football Playoff Format in Its Largest Classification

Next year there will be only 12 playoff teams in Class 11AA, instead of the usual 16.

The South Dakota High School Activities Association has voted unanimously to reduce the field by four and award first-round byes to the top four seeds, who will advance directly to the quarterfinal round.
